Degree Navigator programming is completed during established update windows each academic year. Review the Degree Navigator Update Windows page for the current schedule.
Curriculum proposals and approvals are managed through the procedures established by the individual school or the appropriate university curriculum office. The Degree Navigator website is not a curriculum submission or approval system.
Once the approved change is provided to Degree Navigator staff through the established school or university process, it is reviewed, programmed in DN Test, validated by the department, and then moved to Production during the appropriate update period.
New curriculum changes should generally be programmed during the established update periods. Scheduling outside a window depends on the nature and timing of the request and should not be assumed.
That is a programming correction rather than a new curriculum change. Contact Degree Navigator support so the issue can be reviewed. Corrections may be addressed outside the regular update schedule when necessary.
DN Test is used to program and review changes before they affect the live Degree Navigator environment. Production is the live system used by students and advisors.
The academic department is expected to review the programmed requirements in DN Test and confirm that they accurately reflect the approved curriculum.
A new version may be needed when approved requirements change for a new effective term. Degree Navigator staff determine the appropriate programming structure based on the approved curriculum and the students who should follow each set of requirements.
An exception is appropriate for an approved adjustment that applies to an individual student. If the approved requirements for the program itself have changed, the program should be updated through the curriculum and Degree Navigator programming process rather than through individual exceptions.
